Ever since I Caught the Wave last October, this song has been playing through me and in my head and has me grooving no matter where I am…I’ll catch myself singing:

“Do you know the way to San Jose?
La la , la la, la la lala laaaa

Do you know the way to San Jose
I’m going back some day
Some other way, some other day”

Those lyrics aren’t totally accurate to the original, and they are the ones I’ve been singing since I was little! When I started to notice the song floating around last fall, I called my Mom and said: “Did you used to sing ‘the way to San Jose’ to us when we were little?” She said: “yep! I did”. I called my brother: “Do you remember Mom singing ‘the way to San Jose’ song to us when we were little?” He said: “yep!”

Well, perhaps Mom was a part of aligning a mindset with my CORE for my future…

For at least this season of my life…

In San Jose! I made the CORE Connection™ and when the opportunity came, I had the clarity and strength to catch the wave: to Go!

As I’d been told several times in those previous months: “Go!” Now I knew where, and how and was sure. I had clarity and confidence that this was the next right step for me. I was scared, my team and my inner circle were scared AND we were all sure. No doubts or second-guessing, just moving ahead in faith and deploying and tweaking the plan as I went.

Over the next days and weeks, I’ll be sharing how I got clarity and the assurance to go. The faith and courage to make the leap; I’ll post about “figuring it out as you go”; and a few of the opportunities, blessings and results that I’m experiencing by making my own CORE Connection™.

Keep an eye out on social media to watch the story unfold…and pull the practical application for your life and business. Join us on the adventure!

What to do? What to do…

By · Comments (0)

In the last post I asked you:

Who have you become this year (2012)? / Want to become in 2013?

And

How do you want to feel?

Now….What to DO with these revelations…

Ask yourself 2 more questions:

1-What mindset/truth(s) will I choose to believe to be that person and feel this way this year?

2-What actions will I take? To align with all 3 of the above….

What needs to be said? Done? Stopped? Tweaked? Implemented?

What leaps of faith taken?

To align with all 3 of the above: who, heart, and mindset

** being + feeling + thinking = doing **

Now…you have an aligned and powerful strategic plan for 2013!

Get it scheduled, get your champions and get into action.

In the next newsletter I will share my own CORE Connection™ Strategic Plan for 2013 – already in motion – from the heart (feel) and soul (who) to mind (truth/plan) and strength (action).

For now… answer these 4 questions for yourself and be in power and on purpose for an impactful and fulfilling new year.

In love and strength,

Ginny

Happy New Year!

By · Comments (0)

In my own preparations for 2013, I’m asking and exploring two questions before I move into any kind of planning or goal-setting….and I thought I’d share them with you.

1-Who have I become this year?

And if you’re tempted to get out the cat-o-nine-tails, answer this question instead: Who do I want to be (become) in 2013?

2-How do I want to feel?

(google “feeling words” for ideas and inspiration)

Splash around with these two questions: play, be stumped, explore, discover……

And I’ll be back in the New Year with what to do with your who (soul/CORE) and heart (feeling/desire)….

Happy New Year!!

In love and strength!

Ginny

Catch the Wave

By · Comments (0)

I am California Dreamin’…as I have been since I lived in the Silicon Valley in 2008-2009.

Now even more so as in Michigan…to quote the song of the same name:

“All the leaves are brown

And the sky is gray”

howeva! I’ve been…

“Surfin’

Surfin’ USA!”

Yep! I have been. I’m back from two weeks in my beloved state: a week in Laguna Beach and another week in the Silicon Valley. I was reconnecting with my community, honoring what’s important to me, taking good care of myself, having fun, and exploring a number of opportunities…and in the process was given the opportunity to learn how to surf!

Can we talk about 2 things?

1-I’m afraid of the water.

Yeah, I know…it’s surprising, as I love the ocean. And I do: from the beach or the cliffs or PCH or the pier… I’m just not a fan of being IN it. I’m ok with a pool where I can touch the bottom or it’s a short distance to swim to something solid. :) Where I feel like I have control.

Being in the ocean and out far enough to surf required: courage. Heart in the face of fear. Desire. So I got in the ocean with my board and the surf instructor, afraid [seriously high adrenalin/cortisol levels :) ], and barely trained and needy and awkward and messy. And did it!

2-I thought my CORE was strong. [um, I’m a Pilates Instructor]

It is. Mostly. AND, the muscles you really need to use to surf are weak (traps, lats, serratus). The ones between my shoulder blades and those that wrap down from my back into my rib cage are the ones that I need to be strong to be able to stand on the surf board in one movement to catch the wave – the opportunity – when it comes.

Which really should be no surprise to me as Lies 7 and 8 are my current challenges: impacting my CORE facets of Mission and Purpose and their related CORE Strategies “Be in Community” and “Know Your Value”. The lies that block, distort, and drown opportunities and the ability, willingness, discernment, and awareness to receive abundance [whatever that means to you] and community and belonging; influence and impact.

How wonderful then, that this trip was all about being surrounded by and expanding my community; exploring and discerning opportunities; asking for what I want; facing fears, memories, reality; reclaiming territory; valuing what’s important to me; receiving; growing my capacity; and taking messy, awkward, weak action.

As a result, I have a pretty good idea about where I’ll be headed when my lease completes this fall. :) As I stay surrendered/connected to my heart (desire) and CORE and stay in action: the how, where and when reveal themselves one step at a time. Stay tuned as I’ll share more in the newsletter (or here) as the next steps continue to emerge. :)

I don’t know what the next step is for you, but I do know you need to take it. You need one step, not the staircase. You know it, so do it afraid, messy, weak. Make adjustments and align as you go; jump in~ practice and play; make progress and gain strength. Experience victory on the way to your vision of victory.

What do you want? What’s your act of courage?

What opportunities are building/cresting for you?

What part of your CORE needs to be uncovered? Strengthened?

If we can be of service by helping you tap into your desire to clarify vision and discover/strengthen your CORE to leverage your powerhouse then please join us next week for Fearful to Wealthy: Live or via WebEx (your choice) we’ll be together for a 3-day CORE strategic and financial planning workshop to get you ready for 2013.

“We’ll all be planning that route

We’re gonna take real soon

We’re waxing down our surfboards

We’re on surfari to stay

Everybody’s gone surfin’

Surfin’ U. S. A. “

See you out there!

In love and strength,

Ginny

PS for those of you who register for the Fearful to Wealthy workshop today (October 18, 2012): we will donate 5% of your registration fee to International Justice Mission in honor of Anti-Slavery Day today. We’re all about freedom: personally, locally, globally.

What Do You Want?

By · Comments (0)

Do you know what you want? Really want?

What sets you alight? Bright-eyed?

I thought I did, until my desire got ripped wide open….

I was sure of all I knew
I knew the world was mine to claim
I had directions printed out
And then I hit a wall of shame

Like the lyrics say: “I was locked inside my head” I had the desire in my integrated CORE strategic plan, ranked #1 even and like one of my clients said yesterday, it’s not enough to have it intellectualized. You have to feel it, be it, live it, do it.

When I was locked inside my head
When I was lost in a maze of doubt

I was taking what I thought were risky actions. Surrendered. And they were, I was….. AND I also learned that I was still protecting myself,…not being fully vulnerable, not being fully alive. And then a set of circumstances coincided to “call my name and wake me up….to call my name and lead me out” of hiding……

You called my name and woke me up
You called my name and led me out

Did you know that longing hurts, like loss? Ugh! It does and methinks it’s because when we fully feel what we really, really want, the truth burns off the dross. What’s dross, you ask….it kept coming to mind so I finally looked it up and it relates to the process of refining metals: when you refine silver or gold the dirt, dregs, scum; dross (or from my other teachings: fig leaves) is burned away in the process; and what remains is the essential character.

This is true for us too: getting to the truth of your desire will do the same, burn off the impurities: the false desires, the superficial ones, the shameful ones and the “good” ones, the busy ones, even religious ones……

And when I chased one more mirage
‘Til I was tired and parched again

– to get down to the real ones. They may be raw, but they were placed within your heart and they are part of your essential character: true. And placed there to wake you up and lead you out into your true calling….true service….true happiness.

Maybe that’s why the lyrics refer so much to flames….

I’m alive, I’m on fire
And my spirit burns with desire
You set me alight, bright eyed

I said to a group of workshop participants last week: the flames will burn like hell. And it reminded me of one of my favorite teaching pastor’s provocative questions: What if the flames of heaven are hotter than the flames of hell? What if the status quo, the safety , the good girl/guy; the avoiding of failure and fear of success, the medicating, the mediocrity we’ve settled for is hell and in no way prepares us for the joy of heaven? He’s starting to sound like C.S. Lewis in his book The Great Divorce. Hell was a day in the status quo life. Heaven required burning off the dross to get to the joy and shalom to be able to live in it forever.

So, then maybe fully feeling your desire means it’ll burn like heaven…? Preparing you for heaven…and bringing heaven to earth…..

And with no way to hold it inside

Dear ones came alongside and fanned the flames of desire in my heart and spirit. Shored me up, loved me, encouraged me to stay open, stay vulnerable, stay with the desire. This is surrender. And. Ohhhhie! Hot, hot, hot! And I gotta tell ya, on the other side, it’s freedom. And it came with clarity, the next steps, and some forward movement (progress/results in many areas of my life and business). Along with greater community and connections. It’s still not exactly comfortable and I don’t know exactly where the path will go, but I know I am safe and from the feedback I’m receiving: apparently, I am in service too: for when I am weak, I am strong. I am so loved and accepted and successful. For being real. For being a more vulnerable version of the CORE me. You are too!

You took my hand and raised me high

I’m alive, I’m on fire
And my spirit burns with desire
You set me alight, bright eyed
And with no way to hold it inside
I wanted to thank You
Thank You, thank You

A dear one who is in Africa shares that the people there with their many overwhelming challenges are in many ways more content than we; genuinely happy.

Let the flames in your spirit and heart burn and be fanned from any source: challenges, celebrations, circumstances, loss, conflict, opportunities, frustrations, vision, relationships, fear/joy, action plans, leaps of faith…..

What is it that you want? Really want?

What sets you alight? Bright-eyed? With no way to hold it inside?

Will you be in the fiery furnace? Bound and willing like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. To let it refine and bring out your character, your joy, your next steps, your true service? To come out free

Alight means to be made less heavy, to come to rest…….. as well as to be lit from within – aflame. I love that. Peace and Passion come from and dwell in the same place. Check the video (and my accounting!)….Peter Furler says “thank you” 36x in this song. A heart full with desire is a heart FULL and brings heaven to earth for all of us.

This is the great adventure!
