Annual Board Retreat: Strategic Planning/Team Building

Partner with Board President to design a workshop that engages the team in the theme for the year: EWI-An Extension of You. Create a space where board members can acknowledge who they are and their unique contribution to the team and the organization. Facilitate discussion using World Café/Conversational Leadership technology to cast vision and select objectives, determine a back to basics plan of action and learn each other’s perspectives and ways of thinking. Integrate and apply their learnings of their own and each others’ unique contribution and ways of processing through a team-building exercise designed for taking action on objectives to achieve their set vision. The outcome being full ownership for their impact as a person and as a team to strengthen the foundation of EWI while growing and developing the membership.

“We have strong and passionate women in our group.Very diverse. You were great. Much needed. You helped us focus and set the tone. This retreat has moved us at least one year ahead. I’m so excited for all that EWI can be. Thank you!”

“You did a wonderful job at the [EWI Board] retreat. I wasn’t sure what to expect (and actually expected the “typical” team building activities), but you provided a completely different experience for me. I thought it was insightful and gave me an opportunity to see how some of my fellow board members think and process information.”

Money Happens. Is it Happening for You?

Organizers of the first Detroit Design Festival (DDF) hope to shift Detroit’s image and economy by “displaying the creative talent that will help Detroit become a global center of creative innovation.” Over the eight days and nights of the DDF, a variety of “Happenings” will take place at venues across the Motor City, including studio tours, roundtable discussions, fashion shows, film screenings, sculptures, installations, and workshops. The Money Happens. Is it happening for you? workshop will feature Ginny Victory, a certified public accountant and accomplished expert in business and life coaching, as well as a noted author and speaker. This “happening” is designed to give creative entrepreneurs the tools to achieve financial victory in their business without sacrificing their creativity, authenticity, or life. Ginny’s financial expertise and business coaching skills, meld the practical with the intuitive for an impactful day. Participants walk away with an understanding of the financials and the money mindsets that are either blocking or growing your business.  Past attendees report shifting from a mindset centered on expenses to one focused on revenue and sustainability. The event will take place at the MSU Detroit Center from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, September 26.

“I wanted to go to the [Money Happens] workshop to get a better grip on my own cash management and how to make more money in today’s world. She gave me clarity.”

Gail Marchand, Professional Bridal Makeover Consultant
